Amy Winehouse Tribute

Missus Jones was formed in November of 2012 and is a tribute to the late Ms. Amy Winehouse. The style of the band covers very many genres such as Ska, Reggae, Blues, Jazz, R&B, Funk and Pop. Anyone from 8-80 can enjoy these wide ranging songs and wonderful music. The band has several configurations which can include at its maximum a 10 piece band, Drums, Bass, Guitar, Keys, 3-Horns, 2-backgrounds and of course our Amy Winehouse. We can scale down depending on the production size and budget needs. The band wears full suits with ties and our Amy will always be drop dead beautiful along with her stellar voice. This band has a serious integrity and a specific retro style both visually and musically that sets us apart from all the rest.

Alana Nabors (Vocals) –

Alana Nabors is an amazing soul singer originally from Rockwall, Texas, a small city on the outskirts of Dallas. Highly influenced from a talented family of singers and multi-instrumentalists, music has always been a huge passion for her. When she was a kid, she sang so much that her parents made a new house rule, “no singing at the dinner table until you finish your food.” By the age of 3 she was already singing in church and then onto choir and musical theater in grade school. She sang all the way through high school and people started to notice. With a dad who was a complete shredder just like Steve Ray and Jimi Hendrix, she started playing guitar by the age of 16. After high school, she joined a few bands, did solo shows, and continued to keep singing at the forefront.

Music brought Alana to California where her heart was stolen by the amazing and beautiful gritty city of Los Angeles. She arrived on New Year’s day 2015 and began performing every chance she got, from busking on Venice Beach to countless open mics. She soon found her niche performing and writing with several projects, including her original Pop/RnB trio, Body Talk who plan to release their first EP by summer.

Chuck Orozco (Drums) –

Chuck started ripping on the drums as a teenager in Hoboken, New Jersey the home of Frank Sinatra. Of course being from Jersey City, New Jersey (Oi that’s a lot of JERSEY) was a big influence on his playing. In the beginning his biggest influences were Mitch Mitchell of Jimi Hendrix and John Bonham of Led Zeppelin. After playing in alternative bands and metal bands himself he went to go see a 4 hour Parliament-Funkadelic show at Studio 54 in NYC. This changed his playing and then began to play tons of funk, listening to Sly Stone, The Meters, James Brown, Chaka Khan, Prince, Rick James and started his focus on playing funk. Later jazz pervaded his life including artists such as Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and John Coltrane. Not only his surroundings but his environment was also a big influence on him and his musical tastes, playing in many different stylistic bands throughout the years of living in the New York metropolitan area playing venues including- Webster Hall, The Bowery Ball Room, The world famous CBGB’s, Maxwell’s (Hoboken), The Speak Easy and Kenny’s Castaways in Greenwich Village.

After performing with the Pendulum Theatre Company at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland for a little over a month long show, composing and performing music, he moved to the Los Angeles Metro area, played in original and cover bands, then decided to form the group he now plays with Missus Jones and resides in Hermosa Beach, CA. “My many influences have enabled me to play in the Winehouse project. Being versatile is a must in this band. That and how to make a good Manhattan.”
